Hey. I was looking for some decent hosting advice from people who know what they’re talking about.
I am going to run a Band Fan Site with a few people (I’m British, they’re American) and I would like some advice on what host/package you think would suit me best.
•Im willing to pay upto $10, maybe upto $15-$20 per month. But really, the cheaper the better. I’m only a student.
•The website will contain downloadable Videos and Mp3s, which can’t be found elsewhere, so could get REALLY popular. It will also contain lots of Photographs.
•I think the site has potential to really take off, but it could flop. I’d be happy paying enough for the chance it becomes more popular then expected. A fan site i ran previously had 1,000 visits a day i think? I think this could double, maybe triple that, or it could flop. The Fan Site is currently based on Myspace, but has reached such a level, we want to take it further.
•A Forum will also be hosted onto the server.

•I’m using JOOMLA (free template), that uses MYSQL only I think?
•Speed and Uptime are important. I guess not extremly important, but needs to be average? My knowledge lacks in this department.
•I want a Domain, would be good if this was included.
From the bit of research I have done, I liked Host Monster. But being a newbie to this, I fell for the ‘Unlimited’ trap, if thats what you want to call it. Is that reilable enough, or is there better for my money?
