I shouldnt feel this upset but I do. I had a joint Thanksgiving Day dinner with my good friend last week at his apartment. I wanted to have it at my place, but he has a much bigger kitchen, and so we did it there. He paid for the food and drink with his credit card, it cost $140.00 total. I ASSUMED we would split the costs down the middle, I should have discussed this with him first, but I didnt. At the party 20 total guests came, and 15 were my friends. There were like 5 bottles of wine left over and all of the food, and he kept everything. I paid him $70.00 the next day, my share. He immediately starting bitching, saying that bcs I had most of the people at the party and he hosted it, that he shouldnt have to pay. I was stupid and finally just paid him more, $110.00 of the $140.00. Still all day yesterday, he texted me saying he wants me to pay the other $30.00. I cant understand why he is being so cheap. First of all he kept ALL of the extra food and drink, had 5 friends at the party, and makes like 5 times more than my salary, he is pretty rich.
Why is he being so cheap? What should I do? I cant understand how anyone would joint host a party and assumed he pays NOTHING. I am pretty pissed and dont know what to do. He sent me like 5 text messages yesterday, asking for the cash…..is this guy my friend? what would you do?
Ok, I don’t have the money to buy a blocking program, so I need a cheap alternitive. I’m also not a techi so I don’t understand how to use “hosts” or whatever. I need help, someone PLEASE and the putting it in the restricted section doesn’t work.
I am looking to create my first website and have a few ideas of how to get a domain name registered, but looking for any tips.
My intention so far is to simply purchase the service from any number of web hosting companies. I don’t need any web hosting space. Is there a better(cheaper/free) way?
It seems many people here are looking for the “cheapest”, “least expensive” or “lowest cost” way to do things. What happened to hosting an event based on the comfort of the guests?! Has quality gone down the drain? Doesn’t anyone look for really delicious meals, good chefs, excellent photographers and fabulous venues anymore? It seems many people have lost the art of hosting an event. Hostesses should be concerned with giving their guests the *best* of everything, not the *cheapest* of everything. Although more expensive is not always better, often the “cheapest” or “least expensive” is not enjoyable or of good quality. Why not search for the best quality you can afford? Or cut the guest list? You should stay within your means while providing a quality event, otherwise you are simply wasting your money. Is there anyone out there planning a wedding without a bottom line, who is actually concerned with the flavor and preparation of the meals and the comfort of the guests and the abundance of everything and creating an elegant atmosphere? Or are we all so engrossed in throwing a large showy party that we put things like quality aside for the sake of saving a few pennies?
Not judging or trying to start conflict, just wondering where and when this shift from quality to quantity took place.
To the person who said we are not being forced to pay for our own wedding, that’s correct, we are CHOOSING to pay for our own wedding, not being forced. We are footing our own bill.
Dimitria, I am engaged, thanks for asking! We are having our wedding in our church, many generations of my family have been married there, that is very exciting! We are having the reception at the family home about a half an hour away. It seems pretty typical to me, a morning wedding, h’or d’ouvres and cocktails, sit down five course luncheon menu, dancing the afternoon away and then a large homestyle family dinner for anyone who stays around into the evening.
I’ve been looking for cheap flights to Florida, in August. Thing is, I’m a german student, I lived there for a year as an exchange student, so this summer (because that’s the only time I’m off for more than 2 weeks) I want to go back and visit my host family and all the people I’ve met, but all the flights I found so far are in the range of $1000, and that’s just insane, I mean, who wants to go to Florida in August? Since it’s the hottest time of the year I’d say nobody, but still, flights are that expensive. I looked for flights around christmas last year, and even then I found one that was 470€, I couldn’t go though because of school, but why are flights during high season that much cheaper than off season?
So anything on where I can find a cheap one? Am I looking to early to really find anything? Dates are 8/2 to 9/12, +/- 2 days, Munich of Frankfurt, and pretty much anywhere in FL
I know there are a lot of shopping carts out there. Here is the deal.
1) I already have a web site and a host.
2) I have a paypal account. I am going to use paypal to accept credit cards.
I just need a low cost shopping cart software that has shipping options, taxes, old / new product prices, unlimited products and looks good and not cheap looking.
I do not know html. I use Frontpage 2003 to build my web site. I just need a shopping cart software that will have a nice looking format already setup to add my products.
Note: I am not offering files to download. I am selling Herbailfe products. If you are aware of someone already having a shopping cart setup for these products and willing to hook me up, then please let me know.
I have been a “PowerUser” on Smugmug for several years. I am wondering if I can use my account to host the images for my personal website, which is domain-registered through GoDaddy.com.
If not, what are your recommendations for free/cheap site hosting? I am quite experienced with web site coding, so I don’t necessarily need “easy” building tools. Thanks!
